The crab babies are dead. Cause: either they froze up due to the weather or they gave in to their cannibalistic nature. I didn't want to see the bodies. I don't know.

Listening to Bloc Party and +44 is not helping the grief either. I need my mood-altering cereal now, please. :(

Hooooom. T_T

They crawled their way up the staircase perhaps, or remained hermits in purgatorio. )

For the crabbabies, let's burn down something beautiful, dry our hollow eyes and let's go down to the water.

Hermit crab research from hermit-crabs.com!

- They like humidity and sand is essential.
- Hermit crabs are cannibals, and they are especially fond of nomming their shell-less brethren.
- Them babies are like women during PMS, except they really really bite.
- They are not lactose intolerant, but dairy products should be kept at a minimum.
- At night, they get drunk on water and eat their own shit, and later have climbing parties. They have also been known to click their shells upon one another.
- When handling hermit crabs, keep your palms straight and outstretched so they won't have skin to pinch.
- Their sound is that of "a cross between a creaky bed, a rusty door hinge, a croaking frog and a chirping bird." I haven't heard this yet.
- When it gets too hot, they shed their shells (err go naked actually).
- Hermit crabs also eat fruit and vegetables! ^-^
- They shed their limbs and grow new ones (regeneration? like Claire on 'Heroes' haha).
- They experience a significant amount of stress.
- Hermit crabs need to be bathed. Not getting bitten would be possible with proper use of gloves. (Glove!)
- Hermit crabs also have their version of Fight Club, since they attack one another to claim another crab's shell.
- They play hide-and-seek, and like to lurk in the dark (moohahahaha).
- During molting stage, they smell like fish, or pre-death.

Never have I been so amused by ten babies. ^-^
My parents came home yesterday and voila! Neobie and Neia get pets. At 19, the hermit crabs are my very first. EVER. I've never had a dog a cat a fish a bird any animal to care for and now, hee!

Oh my. Their shells are amazing too. My favorite is the slime-green one, and by scanning the dictionary, it was named Nougat. Neia named one of them Daisy, another is Nunnery, then one is Incarcerate, and there's Fading, Rush, Levity, Tinsel, Speculator and Vignette. Most of their shells are peach-grey, and there's this almost blue-black one that resembles an oyster. When I checked on them this morning, I saw that errr they were piling on top of each other and falling.

Thank you, relatives who gave them out for free. Hahaha. I plan to make a sci-fi themed aquarium, with blue sand and and and robots! Oh, and we feed the baby crabs bread. I wonder how they'd look like when they're older. RESEARCH TAHMS!

This is probably the corniest possible way I could put it, but I accept my corn.

Conversations with my mother about my hair:
My mom: Ibang style kasi yan. Layered style!
Me: Like, like an onion?
My mom: Iba namang layers yun no!
Me: My hair is like an onion. You cut it up and it. makes. me. cry. o__o
My mom: ANOOO?!?!?

Well I haven't had a haircut in almost a year, so this is errr something.

Social gatherings make me queasy.
