My parents got me Tim Burton's "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories" as a delayed Christmas gift! It was supposed to be my birthday gift last year, but we couldn't find it anywhere. And now we finally did. *euphoria*

Then my cousin, Kuya Harry, told me to choose a book when he was shopping for gifts for my family (it pays to be a working individual). Since I took a long time picking one out, he gave me P1000 to spend and left me at National Book Store for a while. I saw how the other books cost way more than what he gave me (Eco's "The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana went way over the limit, so did Murakami's "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman"), and the selection of paperbacks they had wasn't so wide. I drifted off to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section and found Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes"! *bliss*

All my other presents shiver in comparison to these though, but I like them a lot anyway. The bags, the organizer, the shirts, and the lotion and perfume set would come very handy indeed.

My mom gave Neia a new haircut! She now looks like my mom. And that's absolutely the best gift I got this Christmas: another mother! Whoot.

If that was sarcasm then I'm a daisy garland-wearing, bubblegum-pop sensation. Mragh.

Anyway, everyone have a SAFE NEW YEAR. I wouldn't exactly want to force you into a Happy New Year because some people from the Populous City of the Imprudent are trigger-happy, and I wouldn't want them to use happiness as an excuse to fire a shotgun.

The human brain is so complex because it has numerous functions and that the -

*fangirl mode* Yay! We got to touch an actual human braaaaainnnn!!!! And I learned a lot!

The Dura Mater, which is one of the brain's coverings, is like the skin of a pomelo fruit, which is why we can never look at a pomelo the same way again. And there's this cranial nerve that moves like your tongue...and the brain is actually covered in formalin (sp?) to keep it from rotting. We were also told that the left and right sides of the brain "talk to each other"...haha!
Also, I got a part of the brain as a souvenir, because it got stuck on my latex glove. Okay, these are the more pointless learnings...so, on with the pichoors then!

I just came back from the depths of Pampanga (again), and before I left, I ran out of Internet card load, so I didn't get to update at all. Psh.

Well, Christmas was okay. I wasn't as Grinch-y as last Xmas, but seriously, the present haul was pretty creepy. I got really girly stuff like a handbag, a pink shirt, and a flowy skirt. *wonders if she'll ever wear those* The best thing came by New Year's Eve...and it was randomly named Plumpett.

The usual Xmas food was laid out, and we celebrated by the pool. No swimming though. The colds virus still haunting me...

ARGH!!! I can't seem to do anything productive with my time!
